# Authorization

#### OAuth Authentication

Connecting to the TimeTackle MCP server is simple and seamless.

TimeTackle MCP uses the **same OAuth authentication flow as the TimeTackle app itself**. There is no separate account or credential setup required.

**How it works:**

* You connect from an MCP-compatible AI client
* You are redirected to **TimeTackle** for authorization
* You sign in using your existing **Google or Outlook account** (the same login you use for TimeTackle)
* After approval, OAuth is completed and control returns to the AI client

Once connected:

* Access tokens are scoped to **your TimeTackle account**
* All tool calls are executed securely on your behalf
* No passwords or credentials are shared with the AI client

> ⚠️ All MCP tool calls require a valid access token. Unauthorized requests will be rejected.
